COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course focuses on the motor speech system and includes an evidenced-based framework for identifying motor breakdowns, determining treatment targets, designing treatment sessions, and applying the four levels of technique (Parameter, Surface, Complex, and Syllable - PROMPTs).
LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the conclusion of the Level 1 course participants will be able to
- Describe key components of PROMPT assessment and treatment
- Explain the PROMPT Conceptual Framework (Physical-Sensory, Cognitive-Linguistic, and Social-Emotional Domains).
- Apply the four levels of PROMPT technique (Parameter, Surface, Complex, and Syllable)
- Analyze motor speech cases using the PROMPT assessment tools (Systems
Analysis Observation and Motor Speech Hierarchy). - Design motor goals and treatment plans. (sept, 2025)
